I'm voting for a nice port also...I think I've only used it while cooking but I imagine the Oreo woud really bring out the sweet tang from a nice Ruby Port...
What I generally do is buy a nice bottle I like and then after a glass or two switch to milk with the oreos because-- yeah, I haven't found any that work well together. However, if you really want to mix- it has to be champaign- the bubbles will penetrate the creme filling- I like Cristalino for cheap champaign : )
port would be too sweet to provide the counterpunch, likewise any kind of fruit wine.
Champagne would be a decent choice, but I'd go for any halfway decent beaujolais made from a gamay grape would be light and fresh and lively with a crisp bright tartness.
The pink kind in a box.
ReplyDeleteAny. Oreos go with everything.
ReplyDeleteI like a nice red with any kind of chocolate. Syrah seems to be all the rage right now. But I would pretty much drink Sangiovese with anything.
ReplyDeleteA rich raspberry wine. Mmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Oreos go with everything. Shiraz works, too, as does a blush, merlot--if you like merlot normally-- and cherry wine.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you might want to try milk. But I don't recommend waiting a year for the milk to age...
eating Oreos? Drinking? Feeling fed up? Ok, what happened in Court today?

ReplyDeleteOr maybe some Boones Farm.

ReplyDeleteI say champagne...it works really well with brownies.
ReplyDeletedessert wine-- for a little out of the box cantuccini con vin santo
ReplyDeleteIf you have to ask the question, any wine will do.

I think the best whine with Oreos is "Maaaa! We don't have any miiiilk!"
